2. Edakkal Caves – Places To See In Wayanad In One Day

The Edakkal Caves are located 1,200 meters above sea level on Ambukutty Mala. The name ‘Edakkal’ means ‘a stone in the middle.’ 

This tourist attraction is famous for its ancient paintings from 6000 B.C. It is a great place to visit in Wayanad for a day trip. 

To reach the caves, you must trek for 45 minutes through Ambukutty Mala, which is worth it. The Edakkal Caves are the only known place in India with Stone Age carvings.
