2. Basilica Of Bom Jesus – Places To Visit In Old Goa

The Basilica of Bom Jesus was built in the 1600s and is one of Goa’s most popular tourist destinations. The famous brick-colored building is a World Heritage Site.

The Basilica’s basalt pillars, black granite walls, and domed roofs with slopes are some of the most exciting parts of its design. In addition, the church’s posts, walls, and platform are all gold and have Latin and Portuguese writing on them.

3. Se Cathedral

The Se Cathedral was also built in the 1600s. It is the biggest church in Asia that is still in use.

If you go to Goa for three days, put this on your schedule. It is built in the Iberian style, and the high ceilings show off wood carvings and mosaics.

Rich paintings hang on the walls, and the church shaped like a cross. The church is open Monday to Saturday from 7:30 am to 6 pm and Sunday from 7:15 am to 10 am. So, think about the times when you plan your trip.

4. Tomb Of St. Francis Xavier

One of the best spots in Old Goa is the Tomb of St. Francis Xavier, in one of the Basilica of Bom Jesus rooms. St. Francis Xavier, a saint from Portugal, is buried here.

The saint was well-known in Goa, and his body was brought back from China after he died there. The tomb is made of stone and jasper; every ten years, the saint’s body is shown to the public.

5. Reis Magos Fort

Reis Magos Fort is one of the best tourist spots in old Goa. It’s a beautiful location to enjoy a day away from the bustle of the metropolis.

The Fort was built at the mouth of the Mandovi River in 1707. It is one of the ancient forts in Old Goa.

One of the most uncommon things to do in Goa is to visit this place. You can see the bright red lateritic walls and tall minarets from anywhere in the Bardez Taluk.

Nearby is also the Reis Magos Church, one of the places to see in Old Goa.

6. Fontainhas

Fontainhas is a small Latin place in Panjim. This is the best place to look at colorful houses and a small spring on a historical walk in this area.

8. Chapel Of Our Lady Of The Mount

It is an excellent place for a fun day trip with your family or friends. The church is at the top of a hill, making climbing fun.
